Eat with me

In September I traded A black sea salted sourdough with an Australian girl. Bethany Jones brought me Vegimate and a chili plant.

I am really skeptical towards Vegimate. The one and only time I tried it was during a road trip in the Brittish coutry side. I remember I spread a fat black layer of Vegimate on my toast, like some people do with Nutella.

Fuck. Behave girl. Swallow, Swallow, Swallow. Yeek!! Bläh!! soo gross. How can pregnant women be keen on this??

But bread exchange is also about opening your eyes and to try new thing. So, down in the pool again. I got a good go through on how to do it by Bethany.

  • Always use butter.
  • Spread the vegimate very very thin.

It was weird idea to eat  pure yeast on a yeastfree bread. But it tasted good actually. Better then Nutella for sure.

Now Bethany is back in Melbourne and is running an interesting project: Eat with me. The idea is to connect people over food. I think it is really sweet. Through her network you can organize open or closed food/dinner events. Or you can search for events that matches your interest. Maybe you want to just get to know new people. Or maybe you want to try a new restaurant. Or you want to try out that dish that you plan to cook for the girl you fancy. A restaurants can join and try new concept on food excited people. Or you just don’t want to eat alone every tuesday night.

This is a concept that might have some difficulties in Sweden I think. We tend to be a bit restrictive with new people and to invite people home that we don’t know. But in a major city I think it is great.

This is her post about Bread Exchange.
