I have said it before, no place takes me down to earth as Småland. On the south east Swedish coast, where no real autobahn is running though. It is one of the most relaxing places I know.
Growing up here was not always easy, even though the ocean kept us occupied. Still, Far too remote for any curious teenager. But today I value this over everything.
Lövö, the island opposite of the summerhouse. There are free cows sprawling around on the islands. You hope not to meet them. Or that they will meet you when you fall asleep in the grass.
You can buy smoked fish in the harbor. And they throw some kind of event called “Räkfrossa” (free translation “Shrimp Madness”) where you can eat as much fresh shrimps as you like. I never tried that myself. I am happy with these small shrimp cakes that they sell for take away.

Enough bragging now. Just to take you back to reality, it is 38 km to get to a store that sells a decent wine. So you better plan your dinners well.

It is still undecided.. The Kalmar Airport has confirmed that there will be weekly flights from September. However, if it will be “Kalmarflyg” or some other company is still unclear. I can’t wait!
