Manufactum

Manufactum meeting yesterday was inspiring as always. I got some new ideas for both food and interior. That is the nice thing about the fashion field I work in. Levi’s Vintage is all about history and production so most clients I work with are just as fascinated about production processes, quality and the story behind things as myself. Often even more. This gives very inspiring talks. I guess you can imagine the discussions you can have with the head buyer from Manufactum. She knows everything about the production  places of Scottish wool knit. Or Belgian Linen. And she knew more then myself about the local Swedish jewelry production in the north of Sweden where I am born.

Talking about flax Linen, I was not aware they are sold at Manufactum. Not the Belgian kind but from the German flex region around Bielefeld. Unfortunetly they only sell the linen for single beds but if that is what you got, then I would give it a try. Liebe Manufactum, please make this linen in size 220×220.

Some might know that I am a bit picky about my bedsheets. Having your favorite bed sheets is like getting to wear your favorite silk-cashmere blend top every day (just to make it clear, I do not use silk bedsheets. I use linen.). Think about it, you spend (hopefully) at least 8 hours per day “wearing” them.  I got the tip that I could bring my bed sheets to the cleaner and get them mangled. If you wash them yourself before you can still make sure to have the scent of your personal washing powder. How come I never thought of this myself? I am so much looking forward to wash my linen now.

By the way, we started the meeting with an “Eierlikör”. This was the life time premiere for me since I never had this before. I guess I can consider myself to be one step closer to being German. And one step closer to being an grown up lady. Or a Tant like the Swedes would say. It did not taste as bad as I expected.
