Suspicious Family traditions

When you are a kid you tend to swallow most Christmas procedures and find them totally normal. Like hunting for the hidden almond in a porridge that you actually find terribly disgusting. Or the fact that the rhyme on the present under the tree actually tells you what is inside the package before you unwrapped it.  Or that Dads are taking a walk to buy the newspaper in the ice cold snowy evening even though we all knew that all stores are closed (AND we are on the country side and there are no stores around).

In our family there aren’t that many weird traditions. But we have one. We are giving away home made Mustard to friends of our family. It is a tradition from my mom. But it is not my mom that is bringing out the mustard. It is me and my brother that every morning the 24th of December are expected to drive around wishing everyone a happy xmas. Since me and my brother are two heavy snoozers who does not compromise on a long breakfast we never get out of the house before 12pm. So everything gets a bit delayed. And we forget things. Like putting up the star on 2010 Christmas Tree.

I love the packages.

Can you see my cold hands? But today it was warmer, only -9.
