Pomegranate is in the house

2 years ago I booked a 3,5 day trip on my own to Turkey  in end October. Official reason was “I need to get out of Berlin to get some last ray of sunlight”.

My hidden Agenda was “I need to get a hold of the best Pomegranate out there. And I want to get them peeled. I can’t stand picking seeds every morning and every night”.

So I went. And I had Pomegranate for Breakfast on the beach. But sitting there on my Balcony watching the sun go down in the Ocean I really did not mind peeling and picking seeds out of my dinner fruit.

Now the Season is here again. I bought 2kg and I will eat the seeds with Yoghurt, Cinnamon and Ginger for breakfast.

Just remember: Red Fruits are sour. Yellow ones are Sweet. Pick what you prefer.

Yogi, Salads, Smoothies. What else do you do with you Pomegranate? I can’t have enough.

I like pomegranate a lot. In Turkey, they make a sauce for salads, like balsamic vinegar. First they prepare juice of pomegranates (crushing them) and then boil this juice for hours (last year I tried it, boiled it for 6 hours but 6 hours was not enough) and then they have this amazing dressing/sauce called nar eksisi (pomegranate molasses). When I have new recipes, I will share them with you.

Oh, please do! I bought some of this one on the market and it is truely amazing. Great on a tomatoes, cucumber, olives and mint salad. What do you use it for? Have you tried it with strawberries? Could be good I think.
