Ach Sasha, you make me want to go home and use the juicer myself. I feel like an idiot as I am constantly bringing my own cinnamon and cardamom along here (so far they where only able to add ginger in the juices). Saffron milk sounds great! Never liked Milk with honey but with saffron I would fall asleep in a second!

And you are in Sri Lanka just at the beginning of mango season, must be amazing!
I was spoiled by the fruit juices in India. These are some of my favourites: pomegranate and mint, pineapple and cardamom (which is how I got obsessed with this flavour combination - grilled pineapple with a just a little bit of cardamom or cardamom in pineapple compote are both magical things), banana, apple and cinnamon, limeade with ginger, fennel, clove and honey, lemonade with ginger and mint, watermelon with mint. I also enjoyed a warm glass of milk with either turmeric or saffron before bed a few times. Makes it hard to want to drink juice in Germany!

By the way, No spiced up fruit juices here in Sri Lanka. You had such amazing ideas from India, what was that again? I just remember the cardamon..

Happy Holiday! Papaya and cinnamon sound like they were meant to be.

Some favourite fruit/spice (i am including herbs as spices if i may) combinations of mine include pineapple with cardamon, plum with rosemary (i also once tried apricot and rosemary ice cream and it blew my mind), grapefruit with lavender, mango with vadouvan, citrus with chiles (like this addictive citrus salsa http://dinersjournal.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/08/a-citrus-salsa-with-kick/), lemon and black pepper (black pepper does something exciting to a sweet lemon sorbet), peach with ginger, pear also with ginger, raspberry with jalapeno, and lemon with basil (i love lots of basil in lemonade).

now you've got me excited to make jam too!

Underbart Anna!
